The Dalles Mural Society has in place two murals, which begin the telling of the story of The Corps of Discovery as well as a number of other murals reflecting the history of The Dalles and Wasco County. These murals will be expanded to include the story of The Corp of Discovery from the perspective of the people who met Lewis and Clark, the Native American Tribes. The murals stand as art but also education in the visual telling of our history. To enhance this experience a walking tour brochure will be designed in conjunction with recording of the stories reflected in the murals. Not only will visitors see the murals but also hear their stories as recorded by historians, Native American's, or the artist that created them.
