The Ambassadors serve as official greeters at numerous community functions and host the
monthly Business After Hours social.
Downtown Committee
The Chamber’s Downtown Committee works
for the promotion of retail through special
events that enhance retail opportunities as well as supporting the revitalization of the Downtown National Historic District.
Leadership Mid-Columbia
Leadership Mid-Columbia is an annual training
program offered by the Chamber. The purpose
of Leadership Mid-Columbia is to develop a
network of active citizenry who will be knowledgeable,
qualified and committed to assuming
leadership roles in the Mid-Columbia. The
program is designed to identify and motivate
emerging leaders and develop their potential.
Leadership students are exposed to the realities,
opportunities and problems of the area through group discussions, lectures, interviews, teambuilding exercises and field trips.
Building Committee
The Building Committee’s purpose is to build a
new Chamber building some time in the near
future. Their goal is to provide a new Chamber building that the whole community can be proud
to call the “Front Door to Our Community.”
YoPros
The Young Professionals Group (YoPros) is open to
all members aged 21 to 40ish. Currently the YoPros
“Showcase” two Chamber businesses per month, and are discussing other fun and worthwhile projects.
Economic Development
In partnership with city, county, port, community
college, parks and the regional economic
development board, The Dalles Area Chamber
Economic Development Committee focuses on the
economic opportunities of the area while
supporting the preservation of our culture.
The Downtown Renaissance Program identifies
and is undertaking a number of projects in the
downtown area. These projects are divided into
areas of work force training, essential community
services, economic development and revitalization.

Governmental Affairs
The Governmental Affairs Committee meets weekly,
monitors business issues and conducts regular
dialogues with elected officials. Governmental Affairs sponsors forums featuring state and local candidates and issues whenever appropriate.
